And so it begins...

When Jeremy and I first found out we were pregnant, we immediately started talking about a little boy. We had always told eachother that's what we wanted, and so of course it could be no other way! We even bought little boy clothes to give to the grandparents when we told them the good news. August 17 was when we found out that both of us were REALLY going to have to adjust our thinking!

At first I was a little in shock. Of course I was thrilled to be having a baby girl, but I was so surprised! I'm not a girly girl at all, and the thought of lace and baby dolls and pink just didn't appeal to me in the least. I can remember shopping many a time between August and December and not being able to focus on the little girl things everywhere. I constantly told Angela that she would be the one that would have to buy the girly clothes because there was no way I was going to be able to do that!

Until the day Lorelai was born and I knew FOR SURE that she was a girl, there was really no hope for her wardrobe, other than things we had been given as gifts. Boy how things have changed in just 8 weeks!! I now find myself obsessed with all things girl. Don't get me wrong, I'm still against an entirely pink wardrobe...I think a little girl should get to wear other colors at some point. But holy cow, I cannot stop myself from buying Lo sweet baby girl dresses and bows! I find myself shopping at least once a day for new things. And anyone who's seen her room knows that there's no way she'll be able to wear everything she already has. Between me, Angela, grandparents and other friends, my Lorelai will be the best dressed girl around for a while!

I've learned so much in the 8 weeks that we've been blessed with Lorelai. I've learned things about myself, learned to appreciate my parents even more, and learned that it's never too late to become just a little more girly:) My daughter has brought out my frilly side, and I must say, I've been enjoying it!
